The Wolfburn 7 Years Old Single Malt CASK STRENGTH Father’s Day Edition 58.2% ABV 0.7 l is a limited-edition Scottish single malt whisky, released to mark Father’s Day 2022. It is produced by the Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso, on the north coast of the Scottish Highlands. The distillery resumed operations in 2013 and combines traditional whisky-making with carefully selected cask maturation. For this special Father’s Day Edition, the whisky was double-distilled in small copper stills and then matured for seven years in Oloroso sherry butts and ex-bourbon quarter casks. The combination of these different cask types forms the basis for the distinctive character of this Highland bottling.


The Wolfburn Father’s Day Edition 2022 is the distillery’s first lightly peated cask-strength bottling and is limited to just 1,840 bottles worldwide. As a small-batch single malt, it combines carefully selected cask components that were blended together following their seven-year maturation. It is bottled at natural cask strength at 58.2% ABV, with no chill filtration or added colouring. This allows the whisky to retain its natural colour and the original character of the distillates used. Presented in a 0.7-litre bottle, this lightly peated Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a special collector’s edition for connoisseurs of exceptional cask-strength bottlings.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm golden yellow with amber highlights.

Nose: Fresh bourbon cask notes and an elegant sherry sweetness, accompanied by creamy toffee, delicate caramel and subtle oak nuances.

Palate: Powerful, creamy and rich, with intense chocolate truffles, sweet sticky toffee pudding and delicate sponge cake. A gentle hint of peaty smoke complements the multi-layered composition.

Finish: Long-lasting and harmonious, with caramel sweetness, creamy toffee and delicate Demerara sugar. Subtle notes of peaty smoke accompany the pleasantly warming finish.

Due to its robust cask strength of 58.2% ABV, a few drops of still water can help to bring out the combination of sherry sweetness, bourbon cask notes and gentle peat smoke even more clearly. Recommended food pairings include dark chocolate truffles, sticky toffee pudding, caramel desserts or roasted pecans, whose rich flavours harmonise superbly with the whisky.
