Don Papa MASSKARA is not a traditional rum bottling, but rather a spiced rum speciality – or, to be precise, a rum-based spirit – in which aromatic refinement is clearly the main focus. It is based on rum made from sugarcane molasses from the Philippine island of Negros, which is carefully refined with selected spices after distillation. This spicing gives the product its distinctive character and sets it apart from aged or ‘Purist’ rums. Bottled at 40 per cent, Don Papa Masskara is intense, smooth and exceptionally approachable.


The name ‘Masskara’ refers to the famous, colourful Masskara Festival, which is celebrated every year on the fourth Sunday in October in the Philippines and is synonymous with joie de vivre, music and exuberance. It is precisely this atmosphere that is reflected in the style of this rum-based spirit, which combines fruity sweetness with exotic spice. Don Papa Masskara is produced by Don Papa Rum and is aimed at connoisseurs who prefer aromatic spiced rums.
