On the rugged coastline of the unique Isle of Skye, south of Dunvagan, the snow-white little Talisker distillery lies magically on the shore of a bay. Two brothers founded the distillery in 1831, and after their deaths, numerous others took over in an attempt to continue the distillery. All failed until a financial manager and a wine and spirits merchant succeeded in taking over. Talisker was triple-distilled until 1928, after which it was only double-distilled. After a fire in 1960, the distillery was rebuilt true to the original. Today, Talisker belongs to the Diageo spirits group.

Talisker Surge was created by the sea, from rugged coastlines and mighty storms to warming sunbeams and soaring skies - the Isle of Skye flows through Talisker's veins and revitalises souls.

The spirit of this unique place is captured in this richly flavoured whisky, transporting adventurous travellers to this amazing island.

This travel retail bottling is finished in American bourbon casks to preserve its deliciously sweet flavour. An additional layer of spice rounds out this rich single malt with a subtle smoky profile, while retaining the distinctive maritime characteristics of this iconic coastal distillery.

Tasting Note

Colour: Rich yellow gold.

Nose: Sweet, forest fruits, créme brûlée, banana split, butterscotch, notes of roasted pine nuts, chilli.

Taste: Gentle, sweet and maritime, sweet brioche, banana cake, tropical flavours of peaches, fresh Ingwerer, smoky oak.

Finish: Langs, hot chilli, black pepper, campfire, toasted marshmallows.

Best enjoyed neat or with a drop of water.
