Four Pillars BLOODY SHIRAZ Gin is an exceptional Australian gin speciality that combines the distillery’s own Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin with Shiraz grapes from Victoria. What began as an experimental idea has developed into one of the Australian distillery’s best-known bottlings. To produce it, freshly harvested Shiraz grapes from cooler wine-growing regions of Victoria are macerated in the Rare Dry Gin for several months. During this time, the grapes impart their intense colour and characteristic fruity notes to the gin. The result combines the classic juniper and botanical profile of a gin with the distinctive character of ripe Shiraz grapes, setting it apart clearly from traditional dry gins.

At 37.8% ABV in the 0.7-litre bottle, Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin from Australia boasts a striking ruby-red colour and a fruit-forward profile. The Rare Dry Gin base continues to provide the typical juniper character, whilst the macerated Shiraz grapes contribute intense berry fruit, natural sweetness and added depth. It is precisely this combination of gin and Australian Shiraz grapes that has become the hallmark of this bottling and has made Bloody Shiraz a cult product in the Four Pillars range. Alongside the traditional bottle design, there are also special limited-edition labels, including a design by the Melbourne-based artist and restaurateur Kris Leombruni.

Tasting Note

Colour: Intense ruby red to dark purple.

Nose: Fruity and floral with ripe berries and Shiraz grapes, accompanied by subtle juniper and delicate spicy notes.

Palate: Full-bodied and juicy with intense dark berry fruit, Shiraz grapes and a delicately balanced sweetness, combined with juniper and aromatic botanicals.

Finish: Long-lasting, fruity and slightly sweet with berries, subtle spice and lingering gin botanicals.

Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin is versatile and particularly well-suited to a fruity gin and tonic served with plenty of ice and a dry tonic water. It also works superbly with soda or bitter lemon, as well as in Negroni variations and fruity gin cocktails, where its intense Shiraz component really comes into its own. Culinary pairings include dark chocolate, strong cheeses, berry desserts or roasted nuts, which complement its fruity, spicy profile. Thanks to its unusual colour and the combination of gin and Shiraz, it is also particularly well-suited to aperitif evenings and creative cocktail parties.
