The Arachon T.FX.T 2020 is an iconic red wine from Burgenland that combines the best of Austrian red wine art. As a joint project between the three renowned winemakers Manfred Tement (Südsteiermark), FX Pichler (Wachau) and Günter Triebaumer (Rust), T.FX.T stands for uncompromising quality, precision and style. The name Arachon is derived from the old name of the municipality of Horitschon - historically one of the most important wine-growing villages for Blaufränkisch in Burgenland.
The refined cuvée of the 2020 vintage consists of 80% Blaufränkisch, 10% Zweigelt, 5% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes come from vines that thrive on mica schist, loam and loess soils - a soil mix that gives the wine complexity, depth and minerality. After careful hand-picking, the wine matures for 18 to 20 months in new 500-liter French oak barrels, developing its remarkable structure, balance and aromatic diversity. It is then sealed in bottles with natural cork - a clear statement of quality and ageing potential.
