Der Foursquare Détente 10 Years Old ist eine limitierte Abfüllung aus der renommierten Exceptional Cask Selection der Foursquare Distillery auf Barbados. Als klassischer Single Blended Rum kombiniert er Pot Still- und Column Still-Destillate, was ihm eine bemerkenswerte Tiefe, Struktur und Eleganz verleiht – ein Markenzeichen der Handschrift von Master Distiller Richard Seale.
Diese Edition reifte für volle 10 Jahre unter tropischem Klima, wobei die Lagerung in einer Kombination aus ex-Bourbonfässern und ex-Portweinfässern erfolgte. Letztere verleihen dem Rum zusätzliche fruchtige und komplexe Aromen, ohne dass die Eichenwürze und der typische Barbados-Charakter verloren gehen. Mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 51 % Vol. wurde der Détente in Fassstärke abgefüllt – selbstverständlich ohne Zucker, Farbstoffe oder Zusatzstoffe. Das Ergebnis ist ein Rum mit eigenständigem Profil, der Eleganz und Ausdruckskraft auf gelungene Weise vereint.
Der Begriff "Détente" – französisch für Entspannung oder Entspannungspolitik – unterstreicht den friedlichen Dialog zwischen den beiden Fassarten, die dem Rum seine besondere Balance verleihen. Tasting notes:
Farbe: Dunkles Gold mit rötlichen Reflexen.
Nase: Harmonisch und rund mit Aromen von Pflaumen, roten Beeren, Eiche, Vanille, Mokka und getrockneten Früchten.
Geschmack: Ausgewogen mit Noten von Trockenfrüchten, dunkler Schokolade, karamellisiertem Zucker, Gewürzen und einer feinen Holznote.
Abgang: Lang, weich und angenehm trocken mit würzigen, fruchtigen und leicht nussigen Nuancen.
