James E. Pepper’s whiskies have received international recognition for their quality, including the Decanter Barrel Proof Bourbon, which was awarded 94 points by Fred Minnick in 2023.

James E. Pepper’s bottles are characterised by a classic design that reflects the brand’s long history and craftsmanship.

Production follows traditional methods, using historic mash bills and water from the distillery’s original well. The whiskies are matured in new, charred American white oak casks to develop depth and complexity.

James E. Pepper is committed to preserving traditional production methods and the sustainable use of local resources in order to produce authentic whisky.

The James E. Pepper Distillery is located in Lexington, Kentucky, in the heart of Bourbon Country. The region is renowned for its ideal climate and limestone soils, which give the whisky its distinctive flavour.

• 1776 James E. Pepper Straight RYE Whiskey 46% ABV 0.7l: Spicy rye with aromas of mint, cloves and eucalyptus.
• Decanter Barrel Proof Bourbon: Unfiltered bourbon with intense aromas of toasted oak, dark fruits and marzipan.
• Old Pepper Bottled-in-Bond: Bourbon and rye that meet the strict requirements of the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897.
