Old Monk Rum was launched in 1954 by Mohan Meakin Ltd. The company, whose origins date back to the founding of India’s first brewery in 1855, has secured a firm place in the history of rum with Old Monk.

Old Monk uses carefully selected ingredients to offer an unrivalled taste experience:

Sugar cane molasses

The main ingredient, sugar cane molasses, is carefully fermented and distilled to create the base for the rum.

Oak barrels

Ageing in oak barrels gives the rum its characteristic depth and complexity, as well as its smooth vanilla and caramel notes.

Old Monk remains true to its traditional roots whilst incorporating modern techniques to ensure the highest quality. The rum is distilled from sugar cane molasses and aged for at least seven years in oak casks, which gives it its rich and velvety flavour.
