The Duke Distillery was founded in Munich in 2008 and has quickly established itself as one of Germany’s leading gin brands. The founders, Maximilian and Daniel, set out to create a gin that meets the highest standards in both quality and taste. Named after ‘Duke’ Henry the Lion, an important historical ruler of Bavaria, the gin reflects the region’s rich culture and tradition.

The Duke Gin is distilled in small batches in copper stills, with each batch carefully monitored to ensure the highest quality. The gin contains 13 botanicals, including juniper, coriander, lavender flowers and ginger root. This balanced blend gives the gin its distinctive character, which appeals to both classic and modern gin lovers.

Taste and aromas

The Duke Gin is characterised by a harmonious combination of spicy, fresh and floral notes. The juniper berries provide the gin with its characteristic base, whilst the lavender flowers and lemon peel add a pleasant freshness. The Duke places great emphasis on sustainability and the use of regional ingredients. Many of the botanicals are sourced directly from the Munich area and grown in collaboration with local farmers.
