Landy Cognac XO No. 1 is a premium XO cognac from France, which derives its complex character from a blend of carefully selected, long-aged eaux-de-vie. For this cuvée, eaux-de-vie from Fins Bois, Petite Champagne and Grande Champagne are blended together. The distillates used have an average age of around 20 years, with some components having matured for up to 25 years. This exceptionally long ageing period is significantly longer than the prescribed minimum ageing period for an XO cognac and lends the bottling additional depth and maturity. The combination of different cognac crus also makes it possible to harmoniously blend the distinct characteristics of the respective regions of origin.

Landy XO No. 1 Cognac embodies traditional French savoir-faire in the production and blending of matured cognacs. Thanks to many years of cask ageing, the eaux-de-vie develop a distinctive structure, whilst the careful blending of the different crus ensures balance and complexity. With an alcohol content of 40 per cent, the cognac is bottled in a 0.7-litre bottle and comes with a gift box. The combination of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Fins Bois, the high average age and the meticulous blending make Landy Cognac XO No. 1 particularly appealing to connoisseurs of long-aged French cognacs and an ideal gift.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep mahogany with warm highlights.

Nose: Expressive and spicy, with notes of leather, ripe plums, dried fruit, tobacco and delicate honey.

Palate: Powerful yet smooth, with candied fruit, tobacco and matured wood, accompanied by spicy hints of leather.

Finish: Very long-lasting and intensely spicy with notes of ripe fruit, wood and tobacco.

Landy Cognac XO No. 1 is best served neat at around 18 to 20 °C in a suitable cognac or nosing glass, so that the long-aged eaux-de-vie can fully unfold their character. Suitable accompaniments include dark chocolate, roasted walnuts or almonds, and mature hard cheeses, whose robust texture harmonises with the spicy oak notes. Desserts featuring plums, dried fruit or honey also echo the cognac’s characteristic Elements. Thanks to its high average age and the gift box, the XO is also particularly well-suited as a digestif following a festive meal, as well as for special occasions and high-quality cognac tastings.
