The Cardhu AMBER ROCK is first matured in traditional oak casks and then receives an additional finish in specially selected casks that were previously used for the maturation of Amontillado sherry. This second maturation gives the whisky a special fruitiness, spiciness and a fine oak note that harmonise perfectly with the malty flavours of the single malt. The Amber Rock Edition is characterised by a unique balance of sweetness and spice and is soft and well-structured at the same time.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber with golden reflections.

Nose: Complex aromas of fresh citrus fruits, honey, dried apricots and light oak.

Flavour: Full-bodied with fruity notes, warm spices, a subtle vanilla and a pleasant oak spice.

Finish: Langs and soft with a slightly spicy, fruity sweetness and a hint of oak.

Ideal neat or with a few drops of water to fully develop the flavours. Pairs excellently with mature cheese, chocolate desserts or nuts. Also a perfect accompaniment to grilled meat or spicy dishes, offering an interesting combination of sweetness and spice. An elegant whisky that also makes a convincing base for whisky cocktails such as the Old Fashioned.
