Tasting Note

Colour: Warm amber with golden highlights.

Nose: Spicy and mellow with juicy orange and sweet honey, accompanied by fruity and delicately spicy notes.

Palate: Complex, with vanilla, caramelised fruit and ripe fruit, complemented by cinnamon and hints of fresh lemon.

Finish: Long-lasting and smooth with vanilla, honey and a subtle fruity sweetness.

Southern Comfort Original can be served neat, well chilled or over ice, but is particularly well suited to long drinks and cocktails. A classic is the Scarlett O’Hara: to make this, shake 5 cl Southern Comfort, 2 cl lemon juice and 2 cl cranberry syrup vigorously with ice cubes in a shaker, then strain through a bar strainer into a tumbler. Simple combinations with ginger ale, lemonade or cola are also possible. In terms of food pairings, BBQ dishes, caramelised nuts and desserts featuring peach, orange, vanilla or cinnamon complement its fruity and spicy profile.
