Raki, Turkey’s renowned national drink, is an indispensable part of Turkish celebrations. Whether it’s a relaxed meal with friends at home, a large party or dinner in a restaurant – Raki enriches every social gathering with its distinctive flavour.

This much-loved spirit has a tradition stretching back some 300 years and is produced in Anatolia from carefully selected ingredients: aniseed, pure white granulated sugar and soft spring water. These components give raki its unmistakable aroma and delicate flavour.

In the first stage of the distillation process, selected grape varieties from Anatolia are processed. These grapes are harvested when ripe, dried and then fermented. In the subsequent second stage of distillation, high-quality Pimpinella aniseed is added to the resulting ‘suma’. The Álá undergoes a maturation process in oak barrels, which gives it its unique aroma and characteristic flavour.

Tasting Note

Colour: Clear.

Nose: Intense, aniseed.

Palate: Intense, elegant, velvety, smooth, aniseed.

Finish: Long-lasting.

This Yeni Raki is best enjoyed neat or as an aperitif with water. However, it is also often enjoyed ‘on the rocks’.
