Punt E Mes Aperitivo Originale is a traditional Italian aperitif with an alcohol content of 16 % vol. and a bottle size of 0.75 litres. This unique aperitif was originally created in 1870 at Antonio Carpano’s bar in Turin and has had a remarkable history ever since. The curious story of its origins begins when a banker ordered a special aperitif during his lunch break. In his hectic working environment, he spontaneously exclaimed “Punt E Mes”, which means “one and a half stock exchange points” in Piedmontese. As this bespoke aperitif tasted so exquisite, it gave rise to a new brand that is now regarded as a classic amongst Italian aperitifs.

Today, Punt E Mes is produced using a blend of the finest Italian wines and 50 different herbs and spices, which give it its distinctive and balanced bitterness. The aperitif is characterised by its complex flavours, which combine both sweet and bitter notes. Punt E Mes is an ideal choice for an aperitif, but can also be used as a base for various cocktails.

The bouquet is intense and complex, with distinct aromas of herbs and spices accompanied by a pleasant sweetness. On the palate, an exciting balance unfolds between sweet, fruity notes and a robust, spicy bitterness derived from the 50 herbs and spices. The finish is long and balanced, with a slightly bitter aftertaste that is characteristic of this aperitif and perfectly rounds off the tasting experience.
