The Clément Cuvée Homère Rhum Vieux Agricole Hors d’Âge, with an alcohol content of 44 per cent by volume and a capacity of 0.7 litres, is one of the most prestigious bottlings from the long-established Habitation Clément on the French Caribbean island of Martinique. Since 1887, the Clément brand has stood for authentic ‘Rhum Agricole’ quality, produced exclusively from freshly pressed sugar cane juice rather than molasses.


The Cuvée Homère was created as a tribute to the founder, Homère Clément, and combines a selection of the finest long-aged rums, which have matured for between 15 and 30 years in carefully selected oak casks. This exceptionally long period of cask ageing results in a complex, profound Rhum Agricole that regularly wins international awards and is regarded as one of Martinique’s finest rums.


Presented in an elegant gift box, this cuvée is aimed at connoisseurs and collectors who appreciate the authentic character of the Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) Martinique.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark mahogany with coppery highlights.

Nose: Intense and complex, with aromas of cocoa, dried fruit, candied orange, vanilla, cigar box and fine oak.

Palate: Full-bodied, velvety and rich, with notes of chocolate, dried figs, honey, roasted coffee, spices and a delicate sweetness.

Finish: Long-lasting, harmonious and powerful, with elegant spiciness and refined woody notes.

The Clément Cuvée Homère Hors d’Âge is best enjoyed neat at room temperature in a nosing glass to allow its full depth to unfold. It pairs superbly with fine dark chocolate, smoked cigars, crème brûlée or mature cheeses such as Comté or Gruyère. It is also an excellent choice as a digestif following a fine meal.
