Plymouth Gin Navy Strength is a powerful and full-flavoured premium gin with a long history. The Plymouth distillery in England, founded in 1793, is one of the oldest gin distilleries still in operation in the world. The Navy Strength variant, at 57% ABV, was developed specifically for the Royal Navy and impresses with its intense aroma and exceptional purity.

Compared to the classic Plymouth Gin, the Navy Strength expression boasts an even more pronounced flavour profile. The higher alcohol content accentuates the botanical notes, whilst the gin still retains a harmonious smoothness. It is based on a careful selection of seven botanicals, including juniper, coriander, orange peel, lemon peel, angelica root, violet root and cardamom.

Tasting Note

Nose: Strong juniper notes with fresh citrus accents and subtle earthy herbal nuances.

Palate: Full-bodied and intense with dominant juniper spice, citrus freshness and spicy notes of coriander and angelica root.

Plymouth Gin Navy Strength is the perfect choice for classic gin cocktails that require a robust base. It really shows off its complex depth in a Martini – served neat or with a splash of dry vermouth and a twist of lemon. It’s also ideal for an intense Gin & Tonic, particularly when combined with a high-quality Indian tonic water and a twist of grapefruit.

Those who prefer a stronger drink can use it in a Negroni or Gin Sour, where its robust juniper notes come into their own.

On the culinary front, it pairs superbly with full-flavoured hard cheeses, smoked fish or spicy tapas.
