Plymouth Gin Navy Strength is a powerful and intensely flavoured premium gin that looks back on a long tradition. The Plymouth distillery in England, founded in 1793, is one of the oldest active gin distilleries in the world. The Navy Strength variant with 57% vol. was specially developed for the British Navy and impresses with its intense flavour and exceptional purity.

Compared to the classic Plymouth Gin variant, the Navy Strength bottling has an even more pronounced flavour profile. The higher alcohol strength emphasises the botanical notes, while the gin still retains a harmonious smoothness. The basis is a careful selection of seven botanicals, including juniper, coriander, orange peel, lemon peel, angelica root, violet root and cardamom.

Tasting Note

Colour: Clear and brilliant.

Nose: Strong juniper notes with fresh citrus accents and fine earthy herbal nuances.

Flavour: Full-bodied and intense with dominant juniper spice, citrus freshness and spicy nuances of coriander and angelica root.

Finish: Long-lasting, dry and warm with a subtle peppery flavour.

Plymouth Gin Navy Strength is the perfect choice for classic gin cocktails that require a powerful base. It shows its complex depth especially as a Martini - pure or with a dash of dry vermouth and a lemon zest. It is also ideal for an intense gin & tonic, especially in combination with a high-quality Indian tonic water and a grapefruit zest.

If you like it strong, you can use it in a Negroni or gin sour, where it comes into its own with its powerful juniper flavour.

In culinary terms, it harmonises perfectly with strong hard cheese, smoked fish or spicy tapas.
