The result is an accessible, clearly structured bottling that is ideal for sharing and retains the distinctive character of Taiwan’s Kavalan Distillery. Maturation in selected Oloroso sherry casks has a lasting influence on the character of this whisky, lending it a complex blend of dried fruit, nutty aromas and subtle spice. Colour: Deep mahogany with warm, shimmering highlights.

Nose: Clean and complex, with multiple layers of dried fruit, nutty aromas and spices, complemented by hints of marzipan and vanilla.

Palate: Smooth and well-balanced, with natural sweetness, distinct dried fruit and warm spicy notes, accompanied by subtle hints of marzipan and vanilla.

Finish: Long-lasting, elegant and multi-layered, characterised by spicy sweetness and nuances of ripe fruit.

The Kavalan Oloroso Sherry Oak is ideal for drinking neat, particularly after a meal or during quiet moments when its sherry-infused depth really comes to the fore. A perfectly cooked steak harmonises superbly with its nutty and spicy Elements and enhances the whisky’s robust character. Dark chocolate, pralines with a nut filling or caramelised nuts also pair excellently with the warm dried-fruit notes. Matured cheeses, such as Manchego or a nutty hard cheese, also make a harmonious pairing. In mixology, it lends classic whisky drinks a deeper, fruitier profile and is ideal for elegant after-dinner cocktails. As a digestif, it ensures a warm, rounded and long-lasting aromatic finish.
