The Littlemill Annual 2015 Release – 25 Years Old Private Cellar Edition is an extremely rare and highly prized bottling from the final cask reserves of the legendary Littlemill Distillery, Scotland’s oldest licensed whisky distillery (founded around 1772). The distillery ceased operations in 1994 and was completely destroyed shortly afterwards – making every official bottling a rare collector’s item. This edition, released in 2015, is part of the exclusive Private Cellar series, aged for 25 years and available in limited quantities per vintage.

For this bottling, some of the very last casks – partly refill bourbon and partly Oloroso sherry casks – were blended together. It was bottled at natural cask strength of 50.4 % vol., naturally non-chill-filtered and uncoloured. Each bottle is presented in an elegant wooden box with individual numbering and also includes a 0.05-litre miniature for tasting, without having to open the collector’s item. A true gem for whisky enthusiasts, combining history, craftsmanship and enjoyment at the very highest level.

Tasting Note

Colour: Rich gold with an amber sheen.

Nose: Complex, deep and elegant, with notes of dried apricots, honey, toasted oak, orange marmalade, almonds and a hint of herbal spice.

Palate: Oily, rich and well-structured with flavours of vanilla, nutmeg, candied citrus, toffee, woody spices and a subtle hint of sherry.

Finish: Very long, multi-layered and warming, with an elegant balance of sweetness, spice and fruit.

This bottling deserves the utmost attention and is ideal for enjoying neat in a high-quality nosing glass. A few drops of water can help to bring out the full spectrum of flavours. The miniature bottle is perfect for an initial tasting without having to uncork the full-sized bottle.
