The Hödl Hof WILLIBALD spirit, with an alcohol content of 33% vol. in a 1-litre bottle, is a refined and aromatic spirit created from high-quality Williams pear distillate and neutral wheat distillate. Produced at the historic Hödl Hof distillery, nestled amongst picturesque orchards and vineyards, this speciality combines centuries-old Styrian distilling craftsmanship with modern refinement techniques.

For generations, the Hödl Hof distillery has been practising double distillation in accordance with the old Styrian tradition. The distillery’s own fruit is transported directly from the farm’s orchards to the fermentation cellars, where it is fermented gently under temperature-controlled conditions. Distillation takes place in a 300-litre rough distillation still and a 200-litre fine distillation still made of pure copper, to ensure the highest quality and purity. For the Willibald spirit, only the high-proof ‘heart’ of the distillation is selected and matured in wood, glass or stainless steel to allow its full aroma to develop.

Tasting Note

Nose: Fruity and fresh with intense notes of ripe Williams pears, accompanied by a slight sweetness and a gentle hint of grain.
