Laphroaig Lore is an exceptional single malt whisky from the Scottish island of Islay, which reflects the distillery’s rich history in every sip. Named after the Gaelic word for ‘legend’, this whisky brings together the knowledge and craftsmanship of several generations of master blenders. Its complex aroma is the result of maturation in five different types of cask, creating a harmonious balance between peaty smoke, sweetness and spice.

The use of 19th-century quarter casks gives Laphroaig Lore a velvety texture and intense depth. Oloroso sherry butts lend it a fruity sweetness, whilst ex-bourbon casks contribute a subtle hint of vanilla. The blend of whiskies aged between seven and 21 years delivers impressive complexity – ranging from bold and smoky to elegant and smooth. The result is a multi-layered Islay whisky that combines Laphroaig’s characteristic peaty character with a rich flavour profile.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep amber with golden highlights.

Nose: Intense peat smoke, accompanied by dark chocolate, dried fruit and spicy oak notes.

Palate: Bold smokiness with a delicate balance of sweet caramel, ripe raisins, maritime notes and a hint of toasted nuts.

Finish: Long and intense with lingering smoke, subtle spice and a gentle sherry sweetness.

It reveals its full flavour best when enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to bring out the various nuances even more clearly. This single malt pairs particularly well with strong cheeses such as Roquefort or Cheddar, as well as dark chocolate with a high cocoa content.
