It was founded by two friends, Mark Neal and Daniel McLaughlin, who shared a passion for gin, whisky and vodka and wanted to produce unique and exceptional spirits. The word ‘Scapegrace’ refers to a mischievous or reckless person and reflects the brand’s adventurous and rebellious character.

Scapegrace Classic Premium Dry Gin is an internationally recognised gin, renowned for its exceptional quality and distinctive flavour profile. The gin is carefully crafted in small batches in a copper still, which allows for precise control over the distillation process and the extraction of the botanical flavours. It contains native ingredients such as kawakawa leaves, which impart a distinctive peppery flavour, and totara, a native tree that adds earthy and resinous notes. These local botanicals contribute to the gin’s New Zealand identity and set it apart from other gins on the market.
