The Glen Garioch 15 Years Old Sherry Cask Matured is an exceptional bottling from one of Scotland’s oldest active distilleries. The Glen Garioch Distillery, founded in 1797, is situated in the picturesque Highland town of Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, and is renowned for its traditionally produced, characterful single malts.

This whisky is matured for at least 15 years in hand-selected sherry casks from Spain, crafted from high-quality oak. The casks were previously saturated with sherry, which lends the whisky its characteristic sweetness and depth. Through this long maturation, it develops a complex aroma with rich fruity notes, spicy oak and a delicate sweetness. Bottled at cask strength at 53.7% ABV, the whisky remains unadulterated – without chill filtration or colouring.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep mahogany with reddish highlights.

Nose: Rich aromas of dark dried fruits, raisins, dates and figs, accompanied by spicy oak, chocolate and a subtle nuttiness.

Palate: Full-bodied and complex with notes of sweet sherry, candied orange, caramel, dark chocolate and a subtle hint of cinnamon.

Finish: Long-lasting, warm and intense with an elegant balance of sweet fruit, oak and a subtle hint of spice.

The Glen Garioch 15 Years Old Sherry Cask Matured is perfect for enjoying neat, preferably with a few drops of water to open up its aromas even further. It pairs superbly with dark chocolate, mature cheese or roasted nuts, which bring out its sherry-driven notes.
