Tomintoul Tlàth Single Malt Scotch Whisky 40% ABV, 0.7 litres, in a gift box online kaufen

The Tomintoul Distillery, situated in the Scottish Highlands within the Cairngorms National Park and named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, opened its doors in 1964 and is now owned by Angus Dundee Distillers.

Situated at an altitude of 370 metres above sea level, Tomintoul is Scotland’s second-highest distillery, surpassed only by the Braeval Distillery, which was founded in 1973. Although the majority of the 3.2 million litres of spirit produced annually is exported to the United States for use in blends, Tomintoul regularly releases special single-cask bottlings.

The name of this single malt whisky is no coincidence, as ‘Tlàth’ is Scottish Gaelic and translates as ‘gentle’ or ‘mild’. Tomintoul’s motto is to produce a particularly smooth and gentle whisky, described on the packaging of Tomintoul whiskies as a ‘gentle dram’.

The basic ingredients of this single malt whisky are malted barley and water; as it is unpeated, its flavours unfold gently on the palate. With a relatively modest alcohol content of 40% ABV, it offers a light character that is particularly suitable for beginners. The whisky is matured in bourbon casks, which give it its distinctive character.
