Lazy Dodo Single Estate Rum comes from the island of Mauritius. This dark rum is produced as a single estate rum and is aged for an average of twelve years in oak casks.

A distinctive feature of this rum is its blend of different vintage rums, which have been matured in various types of casks, including oak casks, ex-bourbon casks and ex-sugar syrup casks. The Master Blender skilfully blends these distillates to create the characteristic flavour of Lazy Dodo Single Estate Rum. This rum derives its unique character from a brief finish in new American white oak casks, which imparts exotic aromas, woody notes and a refreshing crispness.

The name ‘Lazy Dodo’ refers to the extinct dodo bird, which disappeared in the 18th century and was regarded as lazy due to its inability to fly.

This bird became a symbol of Mauritius and inspired the distillery to name this rum as a tribute to its homeland and in memory of extinct species.
