Unlike classic grain whiskies, which are usually based on a blend of different grains, this single grain is produced exclusively from malted barley. Distillation takes place in a Coffey still (continuous still), which gives it a pure, clear and fruity character. As it is also unpeated, the natural flavours of the barley take centre stage. Its maturation in first-fill and refill American oak casks adds depth, mild vanilla notes, subtle spice and a harmonious balance.
