Mari Mayans Hierbas Ibicencas with a sprig, 26% ABV, 1 litre, is a traditional herbal liqueur from the Balearic island of Ibiza, which has been produced for over a century according to a secret family recipe. The Mari Mayans brand is one of the best-known producers of the regional speciality Hierbas Ibicencas, which is prized for its aromatic diversity and distinctive Mediterranean character. This Ibizan herbal liqueur is based on a complex blend of 18 different herbs, roots and citrus peel, many of which grow directly on Ibiza. The individual botanicals are carefully macerated separately so that their natural flavours are extracted and preserved as gently as possible. Only then are the various infusions blended together with great care, creating the typical character of this Spanish herbal liqueur.


Well-known ingredients include, amongst others, aniseed, lemon and orange peel, juniper berries, thyme, rosemary, mountain mint and fennel, which together define its multi-layered flavour profile. The alcoholic base consists of wine and alcohol derived from molasses, which are then blended with demineralised water and approximately 160 g of sugar per litre to produce this aromatic Hierbas liqueur from Ibiza. The presentation is also particularly distinctive: when bottled in 1-litre bottles, real sprigs of herbs are added to the bottle, which not only serve as decoration but also emphasise the traditional character of this Mediterranean herbal liqueur.
