Description
Description
Veuve Clicquot Champagne Rosé Brut is an elegant, expressive rosé champagne from the heart of Champagne, embodying the unmistakable style of the long-established Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin house. It is made from the classic grape varieties Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, which are carefully selected from the finest vineyards in Champagne. The high proportion of Pinot Noir lends it its characteristic structure and intensity, whilst Chardonnay provides elegance and freshness, and Pinot Meunier rounds off the harmonious fruitiness.
The cuvée is produced using the traditional Méthode Champenoise, in which the wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle. The rosé hue is achieved by adding around 12 per cent red wine made from Pinot Noir, which is renowned for its aromatic richness and depth of colour. After several years’ ageing on the lees, the result is a Brut Champagne that combines power, balance and unmistakable elegance – entirely in keeping with the spirit of the legendary Madame Clicquot, who stands for innovation and quality.
Tasting Note
Veuve Clicquot Rosé Brut presents itself in the glass with a radiant rosé hue and a seductive sheen. On the nose, it is generous and refined, with intense aromas of fresh red fruits such as raspberries, wild strawberries, cherries and blackberries. After a short while, additional notes unfold, reminiscent of dried fruit, sponge cake, yeast-raised pastries, almonds and apricots. On the palate, it opens with a fresh attack that gives way to a harmonious balance of fruit. The structure is elegant, racy and precise, with a creamy mousse and a long-lasting, full-bodied finish.
Residual sugar: 9–10 g/l
Veuve Clicquot Rosé Brut is excellent as an aperitif, but also pairs beautifully with culinary dishes, adding elegance and depth. It is particularly harmonious with grilled salmon, tuna tartare, scallops, grilled poultry or delicate pâtés. It is equally impressive with desserts featuring red fruits or light chocolate. The ideal serving temperature is 8–9 °C, and it can be cellared for several years, during which its complex flavours continue to develop. An opulent yet finely structured rosé champagne that perfectly embodies the Veuve Clicquot style – character, depth and irresistible charm.
