Jura The Sound Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an expressive island expression from the historic Isle of Jura Distillery and pays homage to the rugged, often underestimated natural landscape of the Scottish island of Jura. It takes its name from the northern strait of the island, home to the infamous Gulf of Corryvreckan, one of the strongest maelstroms in the world. This powerful combination of sea, currents and landscape is reflected not only in the character of the whisky, but also in the elaborately designed gift box, which impressively showcases the island’s maritime Elements.


This single malt Scotch whisky is initially matured in classic ex-bourbon casks, which impart structure, balance and a gentle underlying sweetness. The whisky is then finished in casks that previously contained 15-year-old Pedro Ximénez sherry. This special finish lends the Jura The Sound additional depth, dark fruit notes and a pleasantly warming aroma. Bottled at 42.5 per cent, this island single malt is harmonious, approachable yet multi-layered, with a clear blend of cask maturation and island character.

Tasting Note

Nose: Roasted hazelnuts, orange and maple syrup.

Palate: Caramel fudge, orange peel, dark forest fruits and milk chocolate.

Finish: Long-lasting, warm and balanced with a fruity, nutty depth.
