The R74 Small Batch Alpine Rum is an exceptional rum made from sugar cane molasses and characterised by its special maturation and distillation. This rum is distilled in a double distillation process in small copper stills, which gives it an exceptionally fine and complex structure. With an alcohol content of 40% vol. and a volume of 0.7 litres, the R74 Alpine Aged is a three-year-old rum that matures in barrique barrels that were previously used for ageing the Gravensteiner Caldiff apple brandy using the solera method. This special ageing in barrels, which have already absorbed the fruity character of the apple brandy, gives the rum a unique flavour and depth.

The use of barrique barrels previously used for apple brandy is a speciality that gives the R74 Small Batch Alpine Rum its unmistakable fruity character, paired with the typical, strong sweetness of sugar cane molasses. Colour: Dark gold.

Nose: Fruity, spicy, smoky, notes of star anise, cinnamon, wood.

Flavour: Aromatic, round, full-bodied, notes of vanilla, malt, molasses.

Finish: Langs, bitter almonds, notes of prunes, sultanas, dates.

The R74 Small Batch Alpine Rum harmonises perfectly with a selection of mature cheeses, such as Comté or Gruyère. It also unfolds its flavours particularly well with a piece of dark chocolate or an apple dessert. Perfect for pure enjoyment or as a base for cocktails such as a Rum Sour or Old Fashioned.
