The Glen Moray distillery, which has been based in Elgin since 1897, is renowned for producing high-quality, accessible whiskies that delight both newcomers and seasoned connoisseurs alike.

This whisky is initially matured in traditional American oak casks before being finished in ex-Cabernet Sauvignon red wine casks. This maturation imparts a fruity, smooth and slightly spicy note that blends harmoniously with the classic Speyside Elements. Tasting Note

Colour: Gold with reddish highlights.

Nose: Red berries, vanilla, sweet malt, a hint of oaky spice.

Palate: Smooth, fruity, with notes of dark cherries, blackcurrants, milk chocolate, a hint of caramel sweetness and a gentle woody spice.

Finish: Medium-length, with lingering red fruit, a hint of spice and a trace of dark chocolate.

This fruity and elegant whisky is excellent enjoyed neat, but also pairs well with dark chocolate, roasted nuts or a fine cheese platter featuring mild Brie or Camembert. It also pairs excellently with grilled meat, particularly lamb or duck breast, as the red wine cask notes perfectly complement the flavours.
