Foursquare Doorly’s 14 Years Old Fine Old Barbados Rum is a 14-year-old single blended rum from Barbados, produced at the renowned Foursquare Rum Distillery. As a single blend, it combines rum from pot stills and column stills, with all components originating from the same distillery. This combination of different distillation methods is characteristic of the Foursquare style and blends full-bodied pot-still distillates with lighter column-still components. The Doorly’s 14 Years Old then undergoes a long tropical maturation in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and ex-Madeira casks. Tasting Note

Colour: Amber.

Nose: Well-balanced with dried fruit, dark chocolate and vanilla, accompanied by ginger, delicate toffee and toasted oak.

Palate: Smooth and full-bodied with tropical fruits, orange peel, caramel and treacle, complemented by chocolate, cinnamon, ginger and spicy oak.

Finish: Long-lasting with subtle fruit sweetness, delicate spice and harmonious lingering oak notes.

The Foursquare Doorly’s 14 Years Old is particularly well suited to being enjoyed neat at room temperature, although a few drops of water at 48% can further bring out the complex fruit and cask notes. In terms of food pairings, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, mature hard cheese or desserts featuring orange and caramel complement its profile very well. The combination of bourbon and Madeira cask maturation also comes into its own as a digestif after a hearty meal or as part of a tasting of various Barbados rums.
