Ancho Reyes Verde Chile Poblano Liqueur is an exceptional Chilean herbal liqueur from Mexico, which delights with its unique combination of fresh heat, smoky depth and natural herbal flavour. Produced using traditional, handcrafted methods, this liqueur is made from green Poblano chillies, which are harvested at the perfect stage of ripeness, roasted, chopped and carefully macerated. What makes it special is that the chillies are processed whilst still green – in contrast to Ancho Reyes Original, which uses ripe, dried chillies.

After being roasted over an open fire, the Poblano chillies develop an intensely smoky note that harmonises perfectly with their natural freshness and slight sweetness. This is followed by a six-month maceration period, during which the flavours infuse deeply into the spirit. The result is a complex, expressive liqueur with a balance of herbaceous notes, subtle citrus hints, warmth, spices and the heat of green chillies.

Every bottle of Ancho Reyes Verde is labelled and bottled by hand, underlining the authenticity and craftsmanship behind this liqueur.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light, greenish amber.

Nose: Fresh, herbaceous and smoky, with notes of green pepper, lemon zest, fresh herbs and a hint of wood smoke.

Palate: Spicy and aromatic with herbal notes, slightly sweet chilli, roasted vegetables, lime zest and a subtle heat.

Finish: Long-lasting, spicy and warm with a slightly peppery aftertaste and pleasant freshness.

Ancho Reyes Verde is ideal for modern cocktail creations, such as a spicy Margarita, a Verde Paloma or as an exciting ingredient in a Bloody Maria. It also reveals its complex flavour profile when enjoyed neat or on the rocks.
