The Marzadro Diciotto Lune Grappa Stravecchia 41% vol. 0.7 l is one of the best-known and, at the same time, finest bottlings from the long-established Marzadro distillery in Nogaredo, Trentino. Its name, ‘Diciotto Lune’ – meaning ‘eighteen moons’ – refers to the 18-month ageing process of this grappa, which makes it a Stravecchia of exceptional quality.


Selected pomace from grape varieties such as Marzemino, Teroldego, Merlot, Muscat and Chardonnay is used in its production. After distillation using the traditional pot still method, the grappa is aged in a combination of small casks made from various types of wood – including oak, cherry, ash and black locust. This variety of cask types lends it its exceptional aroma, ranging from fruity and floral nuances to sweet, spicy woody notes.


With an alcohol content of 41% vol., the Marzadro Diciotto Lune is well-balanced, smooth and complex. The elegant 0.7-litre bottle emphasises the premium character of this bottling, which is a delight both neat and as a digestif.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm amber with golden highlights.

Nose: Harmonious and complex, with notes of ripe fruit, vanilla, honey, almond and subtle woody nuances.

Palate: Smooth, round and full-bodied, with flavours of dried fruit, spices, vanilla, cocoa and a hint of sweetness.

Finish: Lang, warm and elegant, with lingering woody and fruity notes.

The Marzadro Diciotto Lune Grappa Stravecchia is ideal as a digestif after a fine meal and reveals its full complexity when enjoyed neat at room temperature. It pairs perfectly with dark chocolate, almond biscuits or traditional Italian desserts such as panettone or tiramisu. It is also an excellent choice as a sophisticated accompaniment to a mild cigar.
