In the late 1990s, a group of friends hatched an ambitious plan to establish the first whisky distillery in Wales in over a century. Their aim was to create a whisky as pure and precious as Welsh gold. In 2004, on St David’s Day, this dream became a reality when Penderyn Whisky first saw the light of day. The distillery owes its uniqueness, amongst other things, to the copper still designed by Dr David Faraday, which features a special still pot. It is situated in the village of Penderyn, at the southern end of the Brecon Beacons. The pure spring water from the region plays a key role in the quality of the exceptional Penderyn whiskies.

Faraday Whisky from Penderyn is an exclusive creation for the travel retail sector and a tribute to Dr David Faraday’s innovative distilling technology. Named after the unique Faraday still he designed, this single malt embodies the perfect balance between tradition and modern distilling craftsmanship. The maturation process begins in carefully selected ex-bourbon casks, before a finish in ex-Ruby Port casks imparts its complex and profound flavours.

Colour: Rich gold.

Nose: Smooth, fruity, raisins, hints of vanilla, Ruby Port aromas.

Palate: Creamy, dried fruit, floral honey, hints of woody notes.
