Cork, situated on the southern coast of Ireland, is home to the picturesque town of Skibbereen, through which the River Ilen flows. This region is renowned for its scenic beauty and cultural significance, particularly in the tradition of whisky-making. In 2007, three friends founded the West Cork Distillery in Skibbereen. This small, independent distillery is renowned for producing high-quality whiskies, crafted with great care and artisanal skill.

From the very beginning, the founders have prioritised quality and tradition, combined with an innovative approach. The West Cork Distillery uses crystal-clear spring water and carefully selected grains. This commitment reflects the spirit of innovation and craftsmanship that characterise the Irish whisky industry.

As with other West Cork bottlings, this whisky is triple-distilled. To enhance the interaction between the copper of the pot stills and the rising vapour, West Cork’s stills are filled only halfway. The West Cork CALVADOS CASK FINISH Irish Blended Whiskey, which matures in first-fill bourbon casks, receives a very special finish in Calvados Garnier casks.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold with a slight apple-coloured sheen.

Nose: Fruity and fresh with green apples, vanilla, honey and floral notes.

Palate: Mild and well-balanced with apple compote, oaky notes, toffee and a hint of cinnamon.

Finish: Medium-length, smooth and fruity with a subtle hint of wood.
