La Réunion, an enchanting island in the Indian Ocean, is renowned worldwide for its expertise in producing both traditional molasses rum and agricole rum. The renowned Rivière Du Mat distillery combines artisanal tradition with modern technology and employs two distillation methods: single distillation for aromatic rums and triple distillation for lighter varieties.

For ageing, French oak casks are primarily used, which previously held first-class cognac, lending the rum its exceptional depth and complexity. This special bottling was aged for 10 years in a combination of oak and ex-cognac casks, allowing it to develop a unique aroma and a harmonious balance.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber.

Nose: Slightly smoky, nougat, toasted hazelnuts, pineapple.
