This whisky was distilled in July 2007 and matured for 12 years in a sherry butt before being bottled in August 2019 in a limited run of just 439 bottles. It was bottled without chill filtration or colouring, allowing it to retain its natural colour and rich array of aromas. Maturation in a sherry cask lends it an elegant sweetness, intense fruity notes and a harmonious balance between spicy and nutty nuances.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep amber with reddish highlights.

Nose: Dried fruit, dark berries, raisins, a subtle sherry-like sweetness, toasted almonds and a hint of oak.

Palate: Full-bodied and velvety, with notes of malt, honey, caramel, dark chocolate, figs and a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Finish: Long-lasting, warming, with an elegant combination of oak, spices and sweet sherry flavours.

The Blair Athol 12 Years Old Single Cask reveals its complex flavours best when enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to bring out the full sherry notes. It is perfect as a fine whisky to savour on special occasions or during relaxed evenings.
