The distillery was founded in 1897 by John Hopkins, whose name is honoured in the Hopkins Reserve, and is situated near Rothes in the heart of Speyside. The whisky is made from malted barley, which is processed using traditional whisky-making methods and then distilled in copper pot stills. The subsequent maturation in carefully selected casks gives the single malt its blend of malty character, fruit and subtle spice. Tasting Note
