The Cihuatán Sahumerio Rum is an elaborately composed limited edition from El Salvador, which comes from the traditional Licorera Cihuatán - the country's first rum distillery. This special bottling is a tribute to the ancient Mayan rituals in which so-called "sahumerios" - ritual incense burners - were used to pay homage to the gods with fragrant offerings such as cocoa, honey, dried flowers and fruit. It was precisely these flavours that inspired the master blenders to create the aromatic structure of this limited edition rum.

The Cihuatán Sahumerio was bottled at 45.2% vol. at drinking strength and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and selected barrels that were specifically matched to the flavours of the Mayan offerings. This edition combines the distillery's expertise with deep cultural significance and offers a complex, deep and harmonious flavour profile. It is delivered in a decorative gift box that visually reflects the ritual theme and emphasises the collector's value of this limited edition.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm amber with a reddish tinge.

Nose: Cocoa, honey, roasted nuts, dried fruit and fine floral notes.
