Tullibardine 225 Sauternes is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Tullibardine Distillery in the Scottish village of Blackford in Perthshire. The distillery was founded in 1949 on the site of a former brewery and has been producing whisky ever since. In 2003, the distillery was saved from closure when a team of independent investors, led by former investment banker Michael Beamish, took it over. Since then, the Tullibardine Distillery has gone from strength to strength and received numerous awards for its whiskies.

The Tullibardine Sauternes Finish undergoes additional maturation in Sauternes wine casks before bottling. These casks come from the renowned Château Suduiraut and have a capacity of 225 litres, as indicated by the number 225. The secondary maturation in these casks lasts 12 months and plays a key role in the whisky’s development.

This additional maturation period gives the Tullibardine Sauternes Finish its characteristic, intense golden colour, as well as a remarkable depth and complexity of flavour.

Tasting Note

Colour: Gold.

Nose: Lemon, allspice, notes of vanilla, cocoa butter and black pepper.

Palate: Creamy, fruity, spicy, with notes of candied orange, a hint of dried pineapple and white chocolate.

Finish: Long-lasting, sweet, spicy.
