The Dictador BEST OF 1979 EXTREMO Colombian Rum Limited Release is an exclusive vintage rum bottling from Colombia, with an alcohol content of 42 per cent, in a 0.7-litre bottle. The rum is part of Dictador’s prestigious ‘Best Of’ series, for which selected, particularly old rum reserves from the company’s stocks are bottled. The year 1979 refers to the vintage of this rare edition. Dictador has its origins in Cartagena de Indias in Colombia and is particularly renowned for its long-aged rums and exceptional vintage bottlings. Within the Best Of Collection, the focus is not on achieving as uniform a brand style as possible, but rather on presenting selected aged stocks with individual character and correspondingly limited availability.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark amber with mahogany-coloured highlights.

Nose: Intense and mature, with dark fruits, caramel and vanilla, accompanied by cocoa, spicy oak and subtle toasted notes.

Palate: Full-bodied and complex with caramel, dark chocolate and ripe fruit, complemented by spicy woody notes and a harmoniously integrated sweetness.

Finish: Long-lasting and warm, with cocoa, dark fruit and spicy oak notes.

Due to its vintage character, the Dictador Best of 1979 EXTREMO is particularly well suited to being enjoyed neat at room temperature in a nosing or rum glass. Subtle accompaniments include dark chocolate with a high cocoa content, roasted nuts or long-matured hard cheeses, which allow the matured rum to shine. Desserts featuring cocoa, caramel or dried fruit are also ideal.
