The Glenmorangie Distillery, founded in 1843 in the Scottish Highlands near Tain, is famous for its exquisite single malt Scotch whiskies. These are distilled in Scotland’s tallest stills, resulting in a particularly refined and smooth distillate. Glenmorangie Barrel Select Release 12 Years Old Malaga Cask Finish undergoes a two-stage maturation process that profoundly shapes its flavour profile. First, it is matured in hand-selected American oak bourbon casks, which impart classic notes of vanilla and caramel. It is then finished in ex-Malaga wine casks, a step inspired by the creative experimentation of Dr Bill Lumsden.

Tasting Note

Colour: Gold.

Nose: Sweet, honey, caramel, freshly baked bread, tea leaves, herbs, red fruits, a hint of milk chocolate and frankincense, roasted chestnuts, muscovado sugar.

Palate: Oily, rich, raisins, dates, mandarins, milk chocolate, honey, brown sugar, citrus fruits, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise, hazelnuts, honey, a hint of oak.

Finish: Long-lasting, smooth.
