Togouchi PURE MALT Japanese Whisky 40% vol. 0.7 l in a gift box online kaufen

Togouchi is produced by Chugoku Jozo, a distillery in the town of Togouchi in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. The distillery is situated within a natural cave system that was originally built as a railway tunnel but was later converted into an ideal environment for maturing whisky. The cool, humid conditions in the tunnels provide an optimal climate for whisky maturation, resulting in a product rich in flavour and character.

Disused railway tunnels are used as ‘cellars’ for the maturation of Togouchi whiskies. The temperature in the Togouchi tunnel, which is 362 metres long, remains a constant 15 degrees, whilst the temperature at the headquarters in the city of Hatsukaichi is slightly higher. As, according to the distillery, not all Japanese people are fond of the taste of peat, the imported Scottish whiskies are blended to create a harmonious, balanced and mild pure malt.

Thanks to these unique maturation conditions in the railway tunnels, the whiskies are able to develop their characteristic aromas to the full and offer a harmonious tasting experience that perfectly suits the preferences of Japanese whisky drinkers.
