Old Perth The Original Blended Malt Scotch Whisky Sherry Casks is an exquisite bottling that combines traditional Scottish whisky craftsmanship with intense sherry cask flavours. Bottled at 46% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle, this blended malt pays homage to the whisky tradition of the city of Perth, which was once renowned as a centre for the art of whisky blending.

Old Perth was originally founded by Peter Thomson, who created high-quality whisky blends in the 20th century. Today, the brand is managed by Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers and is renowned for its characterful blended malts, made exclusively from single malts from the Speyside region.

This expression is matured exclusively in sherry casks, giving it a particularly rich, fruity and spicy character. As the whisky is non-chill-filtered and uncoloured, it retains its natural character and a full-bodied texture.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep gold with amber highlights.

Nose: Lush aromas of dried fruit, dark cherries, raisins and toasted almonds, accompanied by subtle hints of spice and oak.

Palate: Full-bodied and complex with intense notes of sherry, dark chocolate, orange zest and toffee. Spicy hints of nutmeg and cinnamon lend the whisky additional depth.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering nuances of dried fruit, cocoa and a pleasant oakiness.

This sherry-matured blended malt reveals its flavours best when enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to bring out the sherry cask notes even more. It pairs particularly well with dark chocolate, caramelised nuts or mature cheese. It also makes for a luxurious tasting experience when enjoyed with a strong espresso or a fine cigar.
