Phraya Deep Matured Gold Rum is an elegant premium rum from Thailand that impresses with its extended ageing, exotic origins and exceptionally smooth character. It is produced at one of the country’s oldest distilleries, situated on the Chao Phraya River, from which this rum takes its name. The tropical surroundings and the slow, traditional ageing process give Phraya Rum its unmistakable character and make it one of the few internationally renowned Asian rums.

The rum is distilled from sugar cane molasses and aged for between 7 and 12 years in charred American oak casks – in specialised warehouses designed to make the most of the tropical climate for consistent and deep cask maturation. A particularly slow ageing process using the ‘Deep Maturation’ method results in a complex, balanced flavour profile with notes of ripe fruit, soft wood and exotic spice. Bottled at 40 % ABV, Phraya Rum is particularly smooth, yet expressive and of the highest quality.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep gold with an amber sheen.

Nose: Mellow and complex with notes of vanilla, caramel, toasted coconut, ripe bananas, honey and spices.

Palate: Silky and rounded with flavours of toffee, tropical fruits, cinnamon, oak and a subtle toasted note.

Finish: Long-lasting, smooth and harmonious with a sweet, spicy aftertaste and a hint of exoticism.

Phraya Deep Matured Gold Rum is an excellent sipping rum that reveals its full elegance when enjoyed neat at room temperature. It also showcases its smooth, balanced character when served on the rocks. Those with a creative streak can use it as a luxurious base for a Rum Old Fashioned or a tropical Rum Manhattan.
