Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold with subtle amber hues.

Nose: Fresh aromas of citrus fruits and green apples, combined with subtle oak spice and a salty, maritime note that reflects the distillery’s coastal location.

Palate: Full-bodied and well-balanced, with fruity notes of apples and pears, a gentle vanilla sweetness and a subtle spiciness from oak and cinnamon. The maritime salinity rounds off the tasting experience.

Finish: Long and pleasant, with a slightly salty, warm oakiness that fades gently.

The Old Pulteney 12 Years Old is excellent enjoyed neat or with a drop of water to allow the flavours to unfold further. It pairs wonderfully with smoked fish, particularly salmon or mackerel, and also harmonises well with mature cheeses such as Cheddar or Gouda. This whisky is also excellent with grilled meat or BBQ dishes, which benefit from its light spiciness and salty sea breeze.
