Description
Description
Sibona La Grappa di BAROLO is a single-varietal grappa from Piedmont, with an alcohol content of 40 per cent, available in a 0.5-litre bottle. Distilleria Sibona officially markets it under the name ‘Grappa Piemontese’ and uses pomace from grapes intended for the production of Barolo. The pomace comes from freshly harvested grapes and is carefully selected by Sibona during the grape harvest. Distillation takes place entirely on-site in copper stills, with the experienced oenologists and master distillers at the Piedmontese distillery overseeing the entire process. After distillation, the grappa is aged for an extended period in stainless steel tanks before undergoing further maturation in oak casks.
Based in Piobesi d’Alba in Piedmont, Distilleria Sibona has specifically dedicated this bottling to the pomace from the production of one of Italy’s most famous wines. As such, Sibona Grappa di Barolo combines the traditional Piedmontese art of distillation with the renowned winemaking culture of the Barolo region. The grappa is bottled in the distinctive graduated 0.5-litre Sibona bottle, which features a level indicator on the side and a practical pourer. The combination of selected Barolo pomace, in-house distillation, extended ageing in stainless steel and subsequent maturation in oak barrels makes it a classic example of Sibona’s single-varietal portfolio.
