Mateus The Original ROSÉ 11% vol. 0.75 l online kaufen

Mateus The Original Rosé is an internationally renowned rosé wine from Portugal, renowned for its distinctive style and timeless freshness. Since its launch in the 1940s, it has become a global symbol of Portuguese rosé. This wine is produced from a finely balanced blend of grape varieties typical of the region: Baga, Rufete, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Franca. Each of these grapes contributes its own aromatic nuances and, together, they create a harmonious and refreshing taste experience.

The wine is produced using the traditional method for white wines. Fermentation takes place slowly and without contact with the skins in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 16 °C, which helps to preserve the freshness and lively fruit aromas. After cold stabilisation, the wine is gently filtered and then bottled. The entire process is carried out with great precision to preserve Mateus’s characteristic style, delicate colour and balanced freshness in every bottle. With an alcohol content of 11 % vol., this rosé is pleasantly light and versatile.

Tasting Note

In the glass, Mateus Rosé glows with a bright, vibrant rosé hue and crystal-clear brilliance. The nose reveals fruity aromas of strawberry, redcurrant and a hint of citrus. On the palate, the wine is refreshing and well-balanced, with fine acidity, a light body and a subtle fruit sweetness. The finish is lively, smooth and very approachable.

Serving temperature: 6–8 °C

This rosé wine is excellent as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a wide variety of dishes. It pairs perfectly with fresh salads, sushi, grilled fish or light pasta dishes. It also showcases its rich array of flavours particularly well with Mediterranean starters, tapas or Asian cuisine.
