Mataroa Mediterranean Dry Gin is an exquisite gin with an alcohol content of 41.5% vol. and a volume of 0.7 litres, which has its roots in the heart of the Mediterranean. This gin is characterised by its careful selection of botanicals, which offer a harmonious balance of fresh citrus notes and aromatic herbs. The botanicals include juniper berries, angelica root, lavender, coriander seeds, orris root, bay leaf, liquorice, orange peel, lemon peel, mandarin peel, camomile and mastic. This variety of ingredients gives Mataroa Mediterranean Dry Gin its extraordinary complexity and unmistakable flavour.
The gin is distilled in the traditional way, with each botanical bringing its unique flavours to the gin. The result is a well-balanced gin with a clear citrus freshness that blends perfectly with the floral and spicy notes of the herbs and spices. Nose: Fresh citrus notes of orange, lemon and mandarin, accompanied by floral notes of lavender and camomile and a light spiciness of laurel and mastic.
Flavour: Balanced and complex, with a nice balance between the citrus-fresh and spicy botanicals, complemented by a subtle sweetness of liquorice and a light herbal spiciness.
Finish: Long-lasting with a pleasant citrus freshness and a subtle herbal note.
Mataroa Mediterranean Dry Gin is perfect in a classic gin & tonic, especially with a premium tonic and a slice of grapefruit or orange peel. It is also ideal as a base for cocktails such as a Negroni or a gin Fizzers. For an interesting flavour experience, it can also be served with a splash of ginger beer and a sprig of rosemary.
